I ordered this chair from Office Oasis a couple of weeks ago, and have been using it for a little over a week.
The shipping was extremely quick, it was shipped and delivered through Amazon's fulfilment system even though I ordered directly through Office Oasis' website. I thought this was great, because I feel like it would have taken significantly longer is shipped through a comercial carrier.
Like everything, the chair has it's pros and cons.
The arms are not cushioned, and lacks any functional ability to make the arms sit wider. When assembling the chair there is a minor degree of play that allows you to add about an inch of width to the arms, but at their widest I found them to only be about 21" between the hard plastic arms- subsiquently I ended up removing them because it became to uncomfortable to be jabbed in the side by the arms when I would sit or stand up from the chair. It became so uncomfortable so quickly that I removed them almost immediately- fortunately the arms are in no way integral to the chair's stability or other functionality.
The cushioning of the seat is quite thin. It's better than some of the flimsy soft foam that you might find in the cheapest office chairs, but after a couple of hours as my desk my butt and tailbone ends up sore. It's an area that could use some serious improvement when building this chair.
The headrest is pretty cool, and very adjustable, but for some reason they have not given the headrest any kind of tention or locking ability to hold it into place where you want it. You can move it, and gravilty immediately returns it to it's origional position. I really don't understand why it's like this, but it seems to be designed this way because I saw it mentioned in other reviews as well. It's difficult to explain the way it works, but just understand that it's an cool headrest that can't be adjusted in the ways that you would want and expect.
The chair is kind of 'clicky' when adjusting the reclining back. It's not a big issue, but in the beginning I thought that maybe something was wrong, but it's just the ratchetting style of locking mechanism.
These rollerblade wheels are amazing. I am so disapointed that I have been using office chairs for the past 20 years of my life without these kind of wheels.
The reclining mechanism works in a cool way. It's more of a locking ratchet mechanism that is different from any adjustable ergonomic chair I have used before. It feels very solid and robust, if not a little noisy.
The overall sturdiness of this chair is fantastic. It's got a 350lb weight limit, and as someone who is at the top of that limit I can say that I quickly became confident that I could recline completely and kick my feet up without feeling like I would topple over or was putting too much strain on the chair.
The mesh back and headrest are as breathable as it gets, You won't end up with a hot sticky back/neck/head from this chair.
I want to mention the wheels again, because they are so smooth and easy to roll, even on carpeting.
After taking into account I have decided that this chair is not for me. Not being able to use the armrests, and how uncomfortable the seat became after a few hours of sitting in it were simply too much to overlook. It's unfortunate because the chair is well made and sturdy, and I really love the way the back adjusts and remains so stable.
I emailed the company this morning about the issues I was having and ask if there was anything that could be done to make the chair more comfortable. They didn't have any suggestions, and instead recognized that I wasn't completely happy with the chair. they didn't give me any hassle, or even bother asking if I wanted a refund. They emailed me back to let me know that they were processing a refund and that I would not need to return the chair. They suggested that if I couldn't find a use for it that I should donate it. This was incredibly surprising how hassle-free it was to get a refund, in fact not even having asked for a refund yet.
I'll end up buying a nice cushion and trying to make the chair work, but may end up finding someone else who can get better use out of it.
It's a great company that absolutely stands behind their 100% satisfaction guarantee. I have never had this experience with a company before, but I will certainly be recomending this company to others, and offer my thoughts on the chair, because even thought it was not right for me it is indeed a well made chair that I think will fit the needs of a lot of people.
For reference, I am 6'1 360lbs
